Two-day Ganderbal Karate championship concluded

Ganderbal 23 Apr:Two day long District Karate championship  Ganderbal concluded today  with grand concluding ceremony in COE Institute Armapora here, where large numbers of participants up to 360, especially girls participated in the sporting event  from various educational institutions of Ganderbal.
The opening rounds of the championship  started on 22 April and and final rounds were played  today.
The championship was organised by Ganderbal Karata Association (GKA) and whole Management of event was carried out by  General Secretary of GKA Mr Mujhayid Maqdoomi.
The championship was played in four age  categories; Sub- junior,Cadet Junior ,Senior(Boys Girls),
Iqra Rasool,Musab Bilal,Nazima Bashir, and Nargis Showket won gold  in these categories respectively.
Gold Medalist iqra Rasool while speaking to this reporter said that this was a big platform to show case her talent, Girls should participate in these kind of sports .Karte can be used a self defense. I invite other girls to learn and practice Karate.
On the Promotion and development of Karata in Ganderbal ,Mujhayid Maqdooma GS GKA said “I am tirelessly working for promotion of Karate in Ganderbal.I am black belt in Karta and I am passing on my skills to youth here in Ganderbal. Karate had good potential in terms of career.It can be also used as a tool of self defense especially for girls”
He further said that they have produced many National karta players and Players in Ganderbal both boys and girls have potential to represent Country at  International level if they Work hard with dedication.”
