Thousands attend funeral prayers of JeM militants in Tral

Tral : Thousands of people right from Wednesday morning participated in the last rites of two deceased local JeM militants, who got killed in an encounter with security forces in Gutengoo area of Aripal in Tral sub district, on Tuesday.

The deceased militants were identified as Ishfaq Ahmad Khan Urf ‘Haris Bhai’ , resident of Hundoora Tral and Aabid Maqbool urf ‘Umer Bhai’, resident of Khanagund Tral. Two other foreign militants and an army man of 42 RR and SOG personnel were also killed in the said encounter.

During the funeral prayers of slain local militants at their native villages, emotional scenes of women folk were also seen who were wailing in the crowd, beating their chests to mourn their death.

INS witnesses many rounds of funeral prayers in both the places, which were held due to the huge rush of People, who were coming from nook and corner of this sub division.

Later on, both the militants were laid to rest amid massive pro-freedom and anti-Indian slogans at their ancestral graveyards in Khanagund and Hundoora areas of Tral.

However, clashes between forces and youth erupted in Aripal area of the sub division where forces resort to teargas shelling to disperse the protesters, which continued for hours.

Meanwhile, complete shutdown is being observed in the area.

All the shops and business establishments are closed while as traffic is off the roads.
