Srinagar, Apr 28: Continuing its drive against drug menace, Bandipora Police apprehended a drug peddler and seized 1.4 kilograms of charas from his possession.
Based on specific information, a Naka (checkpoint) was laid at Rakh Shilwat by police party of Police Station Sumbal headed by SHO Sumbal Shri Parvaiz Ahmed under the supervision of SDPO Sumbal Sheikh Tahir Amin.
During checking, a drug peddler identified as Adil Ahmed Hajam son of Abdul Samad Hajam resident of Rakh Shilwat was apprehended and 1.4 kilograms of charas was recovered from his possession.
Consequently an FIR No. 54/2018 under section 8/20 NDPS Act was registered in Police Station Sumbal and investigation set into motion.
