Attack on BJP worker by militants an act of cowardice: NC

Srinagar, Apr 30?: Describing the militant attack on a BJP worker in Srinagar as an act of cowardice, the main opposition National Conference (NC) has said it was shameful and not the best advertisement for ‘liberation’ struggle.
Zubair Ahmad Parray was shot at and critically wounded by militants at Allochi Bagh in this summer capital last night, from a very close rage.
He was admitted to SMHS hospital, where his condition is stated to be still critical. Parray had left police training and was associated with BJP.
Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter after the incident, Mattu said ‘Finding the low rung, unprotected political worker to kill isn’t courage. It’s cowardice. Attacking anyone – BJP workers included – for their views or affiliations is shameful and not the best advertisement for a ‘liberation’ struggle. Also, the government needs to get its act together’.
The tweet was re-tweeted by working president of Working President NC Omar Abdullah. Meanwhile, police has launched a massive hunt to nab the militants responsible for the attack.
A Spokesman on the official Twitter account of Jammu and Kashmir police said ‘One civilian namely Zubair Ahmad Parray is fired upon by militants in Allochibagh, Srinagar. The injured is rushed to Hospital for medical attention. Further facts are being ascertained.’
However, no militant outfit has claimed responsibility for the attack.
