Seeks implementation of forest act and end to biased attitude of administration towards Muslim community
Ramban 07 Sept: AIP President Er. Rasheed has reiterated his appeal to people of Jammu province asking them to support the movement for release of advocate Talib and protection of 35-A. Addressing a joint press conference on the conclusion of his three day tour to Chinab valley at Ramban today along with relatives of advocate Talib Hussain and Mr. Danish Iqbal Gen. secretary of ATCC (All Tribal Coordination Committee), Er. Rasheed said “Rights of nomads are being bulldozed in the entire state especially in Jammu province. The only fault of Advocate Talib is that he has been tirelessly working for the rights of nomads and other weaker sections of the society. One has a right to ask that why is not being forest rights act implemented in J&K while successive governments are always in hurry in implementing the draconian laws. The fact is that to curb the rights of nomads a strong lobby in bureaucracy and political setup is delaying the implementation of forest act in the entire state. Since Talib was the only forceful voice speaking for nomads and asking for justice to Asifa among the nomad community, he was made escape goat and character assassination campaign was launched against him which ended up with a conspiracy and got him jailed without any fault”. Er. Rasheed while appealing New Delhi to show sincerity in resolution of Kashmir dispute added that dividends of resolution of dispute would be much more than those of confrontation for all the stake holders especially India, but the only condition is that New Delhi should give up ego and stop seeing Kashmiris and Pakistanis as its enemies. Er. Rasheed while asking for a stern action against fringe and communal elements in Jammu province reiterated that the police and civil administration is on and often showing a biased attitude towards the Muslim community in the entire Jammu province and that is the reason why not only Talib but family of Murfad Shah, killed in cold blooded murder inside Farooq Abdullah’s residence and others are being denied justice one way or the other. Er. Rasheed thanked people of Jammu province for understanding the significance of Article 35-A and expressed satisfaction over the momentum, the save article 35-A campaign is gaining in every region of the state.
