Ishfaq reviews Muharram arrangements

Asks officers to ensure basic facilities to people

Ganderbal (PR): MLA Ganderbal , Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar on Monday visited Dab ,Shalhaar and Thokerpora areas of his Constituency and took stock of the facilities made available by the administration for hassle free observation of Muharram congregation.

He convened a meeting to review the arrangements being made by the district administration for the upcoming Muharram-ul-Haram and issued instructions to the concerned officer’s for monitoring the arrangements, a press release stated.

ADC Ganderbal, Exen R&B,PHE,PDD, AD Food, CMO Ganderbal, Officers of SFC and Municipal Committee besides senior officers of various Departments and representatives of Shia Community and other organizations were present in the meeting.

Mr Ishfaq directed the R&B and MCG officials to repair/improve all the roads and defunct streetlights besides ensuring cleanliness and sanitation in Shia inhabited areas so that the devotees do not face any inconvenience during the Muharram days.

He also directed the PDD and PHE to ensure regular power, water supply and press into service additional water tankers to Imambaras and other water stressed places.

The meeting was told that FCS&CA has kept available additional ration supply in the  area which include  K-oil, additional quintals of additional sugar quota besides  gas cylinders would be made available  during the Muharram days.

Ishfaq was also informed that adequate arrangements for providing medicare to the people are in place and the department has kept available ambulances equipped with necessary medicines, doctors and para-medical staff.

MLA Ganderbal instructed the officers of  Municipal Committee Ganderbal to ensure cleanliness around Imambaras on daily basis and directed them to replace damaged street lights immediately.

MLA Ganderbal instructed Exen R&B to macadamize the 1km more in addition to already allotted work. He directed Exen PDD for installation of transformer at Shalhaar for which he has already released funds out of his CDF and assured people of Tokerpora for installation of  new transformer.

Mr Ishfaq released on spot  funds for 7 electric poles and 15 lights out of his CDF. He directed Officials of SFC to increase the quantity of firewood for distribution. Additional fire tenders should also be deployed in the area.

Ishfaq was accompanied by JKYNC District President Ganderbal Mir Mushtaq and senior members of the party.
