JKCSECC warn govt over alleged forces harassment of secretariat employees
Srinagar, Sep 19 : Jammu and Kashmir Civil Secretariat Employees Coordination Committee (JKCSECC) Thursday warned government over the alleged harassment of employees by the security agencies during today’s restrictions in view of a Muharram procession.
An emergency meeting of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Secretariat Employees Coordination Committee (JKCSECC) regarding harassment of employees by security officials was held on Wednesday.
A statement issued to GNS said the meeting was presided over by the JKCSECC chairman Ghulam Rasool Mir.
It has been noticed that majority of the secretariat employees who were on their way to secretariat were unnecessarily harassed and asked to park their cars on the roadsides despite showing their identity cards, the meeting observed.
“In the view of the restriction imposed by the district administration Srinagar, no official/officer was allowed to move towards the office. This attitude on the part of the government and the harassment towards employees by security personnel is strongly condemnable and needs to be taken care of by the authorities so that the government employees may not face inconvenience on this account henceforth,” the statement said.
JKCSECC has decided that if such incidents are repeated by security agencies in future, the employees will treat the same as holiday and will not attend office for the obvious reasons, the statement added. (GNS)
