Gunfight Rages in North Kashmir’s Sopore , internet suspended
Srinagar: A gunfight broke out between government forces and militants at Nowpora village of Tujjar Sopore, police sources said.
They said that forces cordoned off the village following specific information about the presence of some militants in the area.
The forces, as such, intensified the cordon-and-search operation following which the militants hiding inside a house opened fire, triggering off an encounter.
When reports last came in, the gunfight was going on in the area.
Meanwhile, authorities suspended internet services in parts of Sopore as a precautionary measure. (Agencies)
