SABZAR’S KILLING: Curfew Like Restrictions Continue Across Kashmir

RIYAZ NAIKOO LIKELY TO BE NEW HIZB COMMANDER IN VALLEY

Srinagar:Curfew and restrictions continue in Srinagar and at other places across Kashmir Valley on Monday.

“Curfew will continue in seven police station areas of Khanyar, Rainawari, Nowhatta, MR Gunj, Safa Kadal, Kralkhud and Maisuma,” official sources said.

Restrictions have also been imposed in Islamabad town. Similar restrictions have been imposed in Shopian, Kulgam, Pulwama, Badgam, Ganderbal, Bandipora, Kupwara and Baramulla districts.

The Kashmir Valley has been on the edge since Saturday when Hizb commander, Sabzar Bhat along with his associate Faizan Ahmad was killed in a gunfight with forces in Saimoh village in Tral Township in southern part of Pulwama district.

Government had imposed curfew like restrictions on Sunday to prevent protests in the aftermath of their death.

Resistance leaders have asked people to observe a protest shutdown on Monday and appealed “Tral March” on Tuesday.

All educational institutions have been shut by the authorities in addition to postponement of exams scheduled on Monday by the university.

Train services also remained suspended on Monday for the second consecutive day.
