Students protest over shortage of teachers in Ganderbal

Ganderbal: A large number of students of Government High School, Kullan today staged a protest demonstration against shortage of teachers.
After boycotting their classes the students in shape of protest sit to block Srinagar-Leh National highway at Kullan in Ganderbal district.
As per the details available with Kashmir Age, most schools in Ganderbal faces shortage of teaching staff due to recently ordered mass transfer of teachers ordered by director School education Kashmir, while most girls school faces inadequate female teaching staff is violation of modern education system norms. Raising slogans demanding appointment of teachers in the school, the students held massive protest on highway to lodge their protest before the Authorities.
The students said that due to the shortage of teaching staff in the school, academic session of students is affected. “We were forced to lodge a protest as despite our repeated pleas for the appointment of teachers and no step has been taken so far,” they alleged.
“There is no Math and Science teacher in the High School for the last month.
We appeal the education department to look into the matter and take immediate measures in this regard,” said Malik Faizan of Rayil said.
Senior Officer along with police officials reached to the spot and pacified the students by assuring necessary action in the matter. After assurance the students lifted their protest.
