Srinagar, Oct 05 : Terming the views expressed by Governor S P Malik, in an interview to Indian Express, about ground situation in strife torn state as most realistic, Chairman PDF Hakeem Yaseen has urged the need for devising a practicable roadmap to rectify mistakes committed by the Center in past which have been the root causes of simmering alienation.
In a statement to KPS, Hakeem Yaseen has welcomed the views expressed by the Governor S P Malik about the Kashmir situation adding that it was for the first time when a responsible representative of Centre, not less than a Governor, has himself admitted mistakes while handling the Kashmir situation. He said need of the hour was to devise a roadmap to rectify all wrong doings so as to restore lost faith and trust among the people of the state. He said Kashmir problem cannot be solved through military might but dialogue and reconciliation and providing a healing touch to the turmoil hit people of the state. He has hailed Governor for sharing concern of the people of state about Art.35-A and Art.370 and his assurance “there is nothing to worry about, and these are issues raised due to political reasons.” He has also hailed the assertion of Governor that “he was in favour of wiping militancy and not militants” adding that such a kind of humanistic thinking would go a long way in bringing derailed socio-political
situation of the state back on rails.
Hakeem Yaseen has hoped that Governor would take concrete and effective steps, in accordance with his views, expressed in the interview about Kashmir situation so that blunders committed in past are rectified earnestly.
Meanwhile, Hakeem Yaseen has strongly condemned killing of two civilians in Karfali Mohalla Srinagar by gunmen adding that killing of unarmed civilans, in any way of, was against the tenets of all religions.
Hakeem Yaseen has conveyed his heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved families and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.
Hakeem Yaseen said that there can be difference of opinion from person to person or among the different shades of opinion but that does not mean to resort to violence to silence the dissent.
