Srinagar: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh is visiting Kashmir on 23 October, Tuesday, official sources disclosed.
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh will be holding meeting with the Governor Satya Pal Malik and is also believed to complement the officials of the administration for conducting the Urban Local Body polls successfully.
The BJP which emerged victorious in Jammu and wrested some local bodies in the restive south Kashmir is all gaga over conduct of Panchayat elections in the state. The elections are scheduled for November and December.
Panchayat polls will be held in nine phases. Date of polls will be November 17, 20, 24, 27, 29, December 01, 04, 08 and 11.
The minister is likely to chair a high-level security review meeting where top security officials will be present.
