Baramulla: Today veterans autumn phase football tourney got concluded with team REDS bagging the trophy by defeating team BLUES by 3-0. BLUES who performed well throughout the 3 month long tournament could not break the strategy of REDS. Veterans fc comprises a collection of more than 50 members mostly belonging to middle age group. The club has been functioning for more than 15 years as a fitness club for middle aged people. The activities of the club remain only in the morning where physical fitness is the prime motive. The club management organizes two football tourneys every year by splitting the club members into teams. The football tourneys boost the interest of the members who keep attending the field from March to November thus maintaining good health. The concept of Veterans fc has now bee accepted adopted by a large number of people of baramulla town and has given rise to framing many more clubs in the town which is a healthy sign for the town. Veterans fc has consistently been requesting for maintenance of the only surviving college ground of baramulla and requests the authorities to construct a concrete walkway along the peripheries of the ground so that walkers and joggers are not disturbed by the sports activities in the ground. The facility, if considered, can attract many more people towards this fitness cause.
