Post Snowfall: Ishfaq Jabbar visits Ganderbal asks dist admin to remain alert

Keep men, machinery ready to deal with emergency

Srinagar, Nov 04 (PR):  MLA Ganderbal Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar has directed the district administration in Ganderbal to be proactive in resolving difficulties that people are facing.

Ishfaq  said that the Kashmir valley, and especially the upper reaches of the district where fruit cultivation is the main source  of livelihood, have been  hit very badly, resulting in great losses.

As the snowfall started in Kashmir, Ishfaq tours district Ganderbal where he directed the district administration to keep all the men and machinery on standby incase more snowfall occurs in the district. He asked the admin that the roads should be cleared off snow and there should be no obstruction to road connectivity.

“Keep the men and machinery ready in case of any emergency that may arise due to the inclement weather,” Ishfaq said.

MLA Ganderbal  said the administrations efficiency will be tested in ensuring the power supply and clearing of the snow from the roads in view of the fact that thousands of students are appearing  for board and other examinations.

During his visit to District hospital Ganderbal Mr Ishfaq directed  the health authorities to take measures to ensure heating arrangements in the hospital so that both the indoor and outdoor patients in the hospital do not suffer. He directed the doctors in the district to punctually attend to their duties so that patients don’t face any problems. Mr Ishfaq telephonically contacted Principal Secretary Health regarding  digital X-ray plant and  of new block of Hospital. Principal Secretary told Hon’ble MLA that the X-ray plant and new block will be made  functional from next week.
During his visit to Lar and other area of the district Mr Ishfaq said, felling of trees in different parts of Ganderbal damaged property and also affected the power supply as transmission lines too have been snapped.

He said that old and dry trees in the area are posing threat to life and property of people.

He also  asked the PDD, CAPD and PHE departments to ensure uninterrupted power supply, food supply to villages and water supply respectively and in case of any problem arisen due to snowfall should be rectified without any delay.

MLA Ganderbal has appealed Governor Administration to immediately depute several teams of officers to asses the loss caused throughout the district by the early snowfall and provide compensation to the affected people.

During the tour Mr Ishfaq was accompanied by CMO Ganderbal, Medical Superintend Ganderbal, Tehsildar Lar and other officers.
