Market checking squads invisible, vegetables sold on exorbitant rates

Srinagar, Nov 04 : A day after snowing in valley the shopkeepers particularly vegetable vendors, mutton sellers, local bread makers and poultry retailers have increased the prices on their own whims and wishes with market checking squads seen invisible in the markets.
A legion of complainants told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that vegetable vendors, meet sellers, local bread makers and poultry retailers have started selling vegetables, chickens, meet and local bread on exorbitant rates and market checking squads of the Consumer Affairs And Public Distribution department often seen visible in the markets are nowhere visible for the last two days. Repeated attempts to reach director CAPD Kashmir to know his response and absence of market checking squads failed as his cell phone was found unreachable. (KNS)
