Encounter rages in Pulwama village
Srinagar, November 10: A gunfight broke out between militants and goverment forces in Tikken area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday morning.
Reports reaching GNS said that a joint team of army’s 55RR, 180/183 BN CRPF and SOG cordoned off Tikken area after getting specific information about presence of some militants in the area.
As the joint team of forces approached the suspected spot the hiding militants fired upon goverment forces triggering an encounter.
A senior Police official told GNS that contact has been established with the hiding militants and exchange of firing is going on.
As per sources two to three militants are believed to be trapped.
Till this report was filed intermittent firing was going on.(GNS)
