New Delhi: After the dissolution of Jammu & Kashmir state legislative assembly by governor Satya Pal Malik, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has called for an important meeting with all its MLAs today to decide the future course of action. “We wish that the Assembly elections in J&K should be conducted along with the Parliament elections,” BJP State president Ravinder Raina said.

Yesterday, the BJP had said the best option in Jammu and Kashmir is to have fresh assembly polls at the earliest and slammed the proposed alliance of opposition parties as a “combination of terror-friendly parties”.

The saffron party also said that the border state cannot afford horse-trading and instability keeping its security scenario in mind. Calling the PDP, NC and the Congress’ bid to form the government in the state, the BJP termed it as “a conspiracy against the people of Jammu and Ladakh regions.

Governor Malik had dissolved the assembly on Wednesday night after three mainstream parties came together to stake claim to form a government. The bid was later countered by People’s Conference leader Sajad Lone with the BJP’s support. Lone, a former separatist leader, had successfully managed in breaking away National Conference’s chief spokesman Junaid Muttu, who recently contested the urban local body elections and became Mayor of Srinagar.

Meanwhile, former J&K chief minister Mehbooba Mufti expressed her gratitude to NC leader Omar Abdullah and veteran Congress leader Ambika Soni for their efforts to stitch up a coalition government.
