J&K PSC Lecturers Association holds Executive Body meet

Srinagar:  A significant meeting of Central Executive Body of the Association was held today afternoon in the premises of J&K BOSE, New Campus, Bemina, Srinagar.

The leadership emphasised upon the Governor SP Malik to accede to the long pending genuine demands of the Lecturers working at the intermediate/higher secondary level in the state, particularly the Assured Career Progression (ACP), Restoration of 40% quota for promotion to degree colleges and complete annulment of notional effect during promotion.

The leadership asserted that while ACP file is complete in all aspects and is waiting for the consent of administrative department. They expressed hope that the Governor Administration would not disappoint the fraternity in this regard.

The participants of the crucial meeting also held a threadbare deliberation on the fallout of Government order 940-Edu. on the seniority of prospective Principals and above. The order pertains to grant of permission cum exemption to those in service Lecturers (in Science Subjects) who perused their Masters Degrees through Distance Mode (which, as per laid down norms, is deemed to be invalid in the statute books of the department).

The participants expressed dissatisfaction over the recent decision by SAC through which an earlier Cabinet Order was withdrawn that enabled the Lecturers appointed under erstwhile SRO 202 to avail all monetary and non monetary benefits to which they are otherwise entitled to. The association appealed the Governor Administration to review this decision as the SRO 202 speaks of a colonial mindset and discriminates against a selected group of highly qualified candidates recruited as +2 Lecturers, unlike their counterpart Gazetted Officers; appointed by the same agency (PSC)  but they enjoy full benefits whatsoever.

Moreover, the leadership impressed upon the authorities to seriously follow the latest court ruling while granting confirmation to the departmentally promoted Lecturers. The placement of Senior Lecturers, which is at its final stage, also came under discussion.

The meeting was chaired by Senior Vice President Mansoor Ahmad Khan. The other participants include Dr Nazim Hussain (Secretary), Mohammad Shafi Mir (Treasurer), Syed Naseer Ahmad Rizvi,  Dr Arshad Hussain Salroo, Irfan Mogual,  Dr Refaz, Javed Hafiz,  Gh. Hassan, Dr Yunus, Dr Ehtisham, Imtiyaz Hassan Khanday, Mudasir Kaleem, Azmat Yaseen, Towseef Ahmad, Mohammad Ayub, Bashir Ahmad Dar, Syed Muzaffar,  Dr Fayaz,  Mtr Iddi and Firdous Ahmad among others.
