Scores injured in clashes in central Kashmir’s Budgam, 3 referred to Srinagar with bullet and pellet injuries

Srinagar: Scores of civilians have suffered injuries during clashes with government forces in Chattergam area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district where two militants, including top Lashkar commander Naveed Jatt and his accomplice, were killed in a gunfight.

Witnesses told Agencies that the clashes erupted while the gunfight was going on in Kathpora village of Chattergam area.

The youths hit streets and pelted government forces with stones and rocks who retaliated by firing pellets and tear smoke shells in a bid to break the protests

However, the protesting youths kept regrouping and the clashes went on.

During the clashes, the witnesses said, more than 15 people have suffered injuries. Among the injured one person has suffered pellet injury in the eye while another has suffered a bullet injury in the thigh. “Three injured have been referred to Srinagar’s SMHS hospital for treatment,” BMO Chattergam Dr Kousar told
