Geelani pays tribute to slain Chattergam militants

Says “unconcern of authorities sole reason for unabated bloodshed”

Srinagar, Nov 28 (PR): Paying tributes to the slain militants killed in Chattergam Chadoora, Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani on Wednesday blamed authorities and said that ‘their insensitivity and unconcern is the sole reason for this unabated bloodshed’.
In a statement issued to KPS, Geelani said, “This sacred blood of these martyrs throughout the state of Jammu and Kashmir has indebted whole nation, and it is our collective responsibility to take the ongoing movement to its logical and realistic conclusion.”
Criticising authorities, Geelani said that instead of taking measures to resolve this long pending issue in its historical perspective, they want to impose their own verdict through the barrel of gun.
Geelani said, “We have been deprived our basic and fundamental rights and our young generation is trying to break the shackles of this forced slavery.”
He said that “prevailing uncertainty in state and unrealistic approach of authorities is the basic cause of this human tragedy and it is the reason that youth are losing their precious lives.”
Authorities are responsible for this horrendous situation, he said, adding that authorities are adamant to carry forward this situation and prolong this ‘unauthorized occupation’.
“This arrogance, haughtiness and persistent denial can’t hold water for long and India has to come to terms with the writing on wall, lest this unresolved and unaddressed can erupt and burst anytime, engulfing millions of people in this region,” he said.
