Shaleen Kabra removed as Cheif Electoral Officer JK

Srinagar: Following the allegations were rife that Shaleen Kabra, IAS who was Chief Electoral Officer has misused the funds allocated for the recent  Urban Local Bodies and Panchayati Elections was on Friday removed from the post.
Election Commission of India on Friday appointed Shailendra Kumar,IAS, (JK-1995) as the Chief Electoral Officer, Jammu and Kashmir in place of Shaleen Kabra, IAS.
“In exercise of powers conferred  by sub-section (1) of Section 13A of the Representation of the Peoples Act, 1950, the Election Commission of India in consultation with the Government of J&K hereby nominates Shailendra Kumar as the Chief Electoral Officer of J&K with effect from the date he takes over charge and until further orders in place of Shaleen Kabra IAS,” reads an order issued by the ECI Secretary B.C Patra.
Former, Chief Electoral Officer Shaleen Kabra on Thursday held a meeting with the representatives of different political parties regarding the on-going Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls and it was alleged that he is taking favour to some political parties.
Sources said, soon after the reports emerged about his political involvement and misuse of public money, he was removed from the imoprtant posting on Friday evening.
