Srinagar, Dec 08: The demolition drive and removing of encroachments was launched by the Lakes and Waterways Development Authority (LAWDA) through its Enforcement Wing, in the areas of Choudhary Bagh, Latti Mohalla, Rangparestan, Breine and other adjacent areas of Dal Lake in which illegal dumped material was removed and seized on spot in the area of Kani Kach, also nallah/lake was restored to its actual position by dredging out the nallah/lake.
The anti-encroachment drive was headed by Enforcement Officer, Tariq Ahmad Wani and accompanied by the police team of Rainawari Police Station.
Further, in the area of Khareshi Mohalla/Saderbal a plinth and third storey was demolished. During the drive there was a stiff resistance from the protesters at site but the available police team pacified the protesters and anti-encroachment drive was done smoothly.
Further, all the public residing within the LDA jurisdiction are hereby directed that not to go for any sort of illegal constructions/encroachments, as the Enforcement wing will continue with demolition of illegal constructions.
Moreover the Tipper/Load carried owners are directed not carry any construction material in the prohibited area of Dal/ Nigeen Lake without permission.
