Exhibition held at Kunzar Tangmarg

Pattan: Anmol Sozni and Chainstitch I. C. ltd Archanderhama, Baramulla empanelled with office of the DC (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles conducted/started Exhibition at Hotel Payam Kunzer Tangmarg. The said event was inaugurated/inspected by Shri Babudayal Sharma (Assistant Director Handicrafts) & Anam-ul-haq (Handicrafts Promotion Officer) & Idrees Sultan on 11th of December 2018 which will be continued upto 20th December 2018. The Assistant Director encouraged people to adopt for Handicrafts sector and became entrepreneur and self-dependent. Speaking on the occasion Anam ul Haq (Handicraft promotion officer) stated that handicrafts presents an opportunity to unemployed youth to earn good sustainable livelihood & become self-dependent & also discussed relationship between production and marketing. Handicrafts promotion officer also said that the office of Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) is committed to elevate socio-economic conditions of artisans by providing financial Assistance under various development & Welfare schemes of Ministry. Handicrafts Assistant Director Sh. Babudayal Sharma informed that there are 15 stalls and  30 artisans /craftsmen put on display their products/items. According to Babudayal Sharma the prices  of all the items are fixed by artisans/craftsmen without any interference from the organisation. The  exhibition touched its peak on Thursday as large no. of people including tourists & students visited the exhibition. Shri Babudayal Sharma also informed that artisans from flung cluster areas of Baramulla exhibited their hand made products including embroidered shawals, stoles, sarees, suits, Aari Jams, wall hangings, bags etc. At least 600 artisans benefited/trained under the project funded by O/o the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) ministry of Textiles & exhibitors wish to exhibit/ put on display their works again during upcoming events.
