Militants attack police party in Shopian
Shopian: Militants on Thursday morning attacked a police party in south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
Reports said that an exchange of fire took place between the two sides in Kondlan village, but there was no report of any casualties.
SSP Shopian Tahir Saleem told CNS that a group of militant opened fire on a police rakshak (KK02BB5327) when it was passing through a karewa in Kondlan village. The fire was retaliated and after brief exchange of fire, militants fled from the spot. He said that a cordon and search operation was launched to nab the militants; however, they managed to escape from the spot.
