All water bodies remain frozen in Ladakh, night chill intensifies in Kashmir

Srinagar, Jan 15 : All water bodies remained frozen in Ladakh region, including Drass, the second coldest place in the world while night chill intensified though the maximum temperature remained above normal in the Kashmir valley, where more snow and rain is predicted from tomorrow.
Drass, a border town, which hit the headlines in 1990 during Kargil war, continued to freeze after the mercury remained several degrees below freezing point.
A Met department spokesman said on Tuesday that the minimum temperature at Drass witnessed further drop and settled at minus 26.2 degree while the maximum temperature yesterday was minus 11.1 degree.
