Jaitley flies to US for health check-up
New Delhi, Jan 15 :Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has flied to the United States for a health check-up following his kidney transplant surgery in May, last year.
Sources said Mr Jaitley had left on Sunday for the medical check up. He was expected to address the 7th C D Deshmukh Memorial Lecture, organised by the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER) this evening.
The Minister had undergone a kidney transplant surgery in AIIMS on May 14, last year and could not attend the office for around 100 days. In his absence, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal was given additional charge of the Finance Ministry. He joined the Ministry again on August 23, 2018.
Mr Jaitley will present an interim Budget in Parliament on February 1, this year.
