Srinagar, Feb 28 : The petrol pumps across the Valley especially in Srinagar witnessed a huge rush of commuters on Thursday, queuing to get the fuel.
Eyewitnesses told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that a large number of people outside all the petrol pumps were seen waiting to get the petrol after fuel crises from Friday evening here in view of the closure of Srinagar-Jammu highway.
They said the people were seen carrying cans and bottles to get the petrol from refilling stations here. The long queues continued till Thursday evening.
The Valley had shortage of essentials especially fuel from last couple of days due to the closure of Srinagar-Jammu highway following the occurrence of landslides at many places especially on Ramban-Banihal road stretch.

However, the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Shahid Choudhary told KNS that adequate stock of essentials is available now after over 1000 trucks and tankers reached Kashmir. The vehicles as per the administration were stuck on Srinagar-Jammu highway from last couple of days in view of frequent landslides.

DC Srinagar added the road has been cleared and there will be no shortage of essentials hereafter as the supplies will reach Srinagar continuously. (KNS)
