Srinagar (KPS): A joint press conference by the business community of Kashmir was held here in srinagar to register the protest against the repeated harassment of leaders, institutions and organizations in Kashmir.
“Socio-religious institutions being part of our history and culture,their role in upliftment of the poor, supporting orphans and imparting education and Islamic values to a majority of the population is unparalleled”
Addressing the media,the members said,”The recent ban on socio-religious organisation JeI and summon by National investigation agency(NIA) to Mirwaiz umar farooq,is direct interference in our religious affairs.Apart from being the chairman of APHC, Mirwaiz also holds the title of head cleric of the state.
Adding,every religious section here in kashmir have high regards towards Mirwaiz family as they have remained as the torch bearers of providing platform of spiritual,moral values and social service education for the people of Kashmir from centuries.
The business community of Kashmir further condemned the assault on Kashmir’s throughout the country and the politicization of Kashmir issue
“Throughout the country, our community is being targeted economically and socially. There are cases of murderous physical assaults. A section of the social and electronic media are being used to tarnish our image. A number of innocent people and leaders have been jailed and are being intimidated. The Valley appears to be under siege. Our socio-religious institutions are being interfered with”,added Abdul Majeed Mir Vice President of KCC&I.
The conference was jointly held by,The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCC&I),Kashmir Economic Alliance (KEA),Kashmir Traders & Manufacturers Federation (KTMF), Federation Chamber of Industries Kashmir (FCIK) , Shehr- e -Khaas Coordination Committee, Kashmir Traders & Manufacturers Federation (KTMF(R), Jamia Traders Association, Beopar Mandal S R Gunj, Central Traders & Manufacturers Association and Kashmir Welfare Transporters Association against the prevailing situation in the valley.
