Examiner error allegedly fails students of Bhaderwah College

BHADERWAH: The examination department of University of Jammu , which always remain in the midst of a controversy is again in news but this time for errors in checking the answer sheets written by B.Sc 1st semester students of Govt Degree College Bhaderwah . On March 23 Jammu University declared result of BA/B.Sc /B.Com semester 1st of winter session and today when students received marks cards surprised by seeing their marks cards as maximum students of Bhaderwah college are pass in English subject and failed in all other subjects .Even toppers of 10th and 12th class are failed .Students alleged numerous errors like wrong totaling of marks, leaving solved questions unchecked, checking the answer sheets partially and giving no marks or zero marks even for right answers and demanded high level probe into the matter . While talking to this media person students alleged serious lapses in checking of the papers and demanded strict action against the teachers responsible for the errors. They also demanded a thorough probe into the incident. The latest episode has again put a question mark on the quality of paper examination in the Jammu varsity. Tabish Mushtaq a B.sc student of GDC Bhaderwah said, “I was surprised to see that despite giving correct answer, I was given zero marks and even toppers of 10th and 12 th class examinations are seen failed in all subjects which is impossible . Another student Mahesh Singh alleged that examiners are guilty of shattering the dreams of hundreds of students and playing with their future. The university administration must consider the matter seriously as it is sensitive and relates to careers of students and immediately order inquiry if not then they will launch an agitation .Akila Sheikh another student said that overall result of semester 1st of Bhaderwah college is 2 % in his college and maximum students are shown failed in Zoology , Botany, Chemistry . “Many scored one out of 80. This is a very serious issue , she said expressing doubt over the system of papers checking .
