Detailed Video Report | BJP for early assembly polls in J&K; ‘NC, PDP happy contesting Lok Sabha polls’: Ram Madhav
Srinagar: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national general secretary Ram Madhav on Wednesday lashed out at the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (NC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) saying that the parties are happy contesting Lok Sabha elections while BJP wants to have the assembly election in the state at the earliest.
Addressing a press conference in Srinagar, Madhav said, the party has asked the Election Commission of India (ECI) to hold the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir at the earliest.
“Both NC and PDP are happy in contesting the general elections while we have asked Election Commission to hold assembly elections in the state as early as possible,” he said.
Commenting on the situation in Jammu and Kashmir, he said that after his party, BJP, pulled out of the coalition with PDP, the situation in Kashmir has improved. He said BJP’s stand on Article 370 and 35(A) continues to remain the same.
