Bomb attack on lawyer on Lucknow court premises, several injured
Lucknow, Feb 13 (UNI) Several people were reported injured after unidentified miscreants threw bombs targeting a lawyer on the court premises in the Wazirganj area of the state capital on Thursday.
Police have recovered three live bombs from the spot.
Police sources here said that some unidentified men targeted Bar Association Joint Secretary Sanjeev Lodhi and threw a bomb in that direction in the court premises.
While several people were reported to have received minor injuries, Mr Lodhi had a narrow escape. The bomb blast led to chaos and confusion on the spot.
Enraged over the incident, the lawyers are raising slogans. The injured have been sent to a hospital and following information about the incident, a large police force has been deployed on the spot.
Mr Lodhi said that some people threw bombs on his office at around 1130 hrs, out of which one exploded while other three were recovered from the spot.
The attackers fled from the spot after the incident. Mr Lodhi said that he has a threat to his life and the criminals are running free on the court premises.
According to the police, they haven’t received any written complaint as yet and further action will be taken after they receive the same.
Following the incident, the security at the court premises has been heightened. Police officials have reached the spot and the recovered bombs have been seized.
