Karra owes explanation to his voters: Imran Ansari
‘Abdullahs projecting themselves as Massiah of people they oppressed’
Srinagar: Peoples Democratic Party leader and Minister Molvi Imran Raza Ansari Sunday termed former Member Parliament Tariq Hamid Karra as an opportunist and self centric persons, who took his voters for ride just because he failed to negotiate a ministerial berth for himself in union cabinet. “This man needs lot of explanation to do. He wanted a ministerial place in the union cabinet. Today he is out there to criticize the same PDP which gave him political identity and credibility”, he told media persons after attending workers meeting held to garner support in favour of party candidate Nazir Ahmed Khan, at Budgam today. Minister for Horticulture Syed Basharat Bukhari, MLA Abid Ansari and District President Muntazir Mohi-ud-Din were also present. His was pursing personal ambition least realizing that a Member Parliament gets highest forum to talk about. He never used the forum for which he was sent there. He was also missing from public discourse and debate from day one”, Ansari said when asked. Asserting that Karra owes explanation to the people and those who voted him, he said, “This objection to PDP-BJP was an afterthought. Infect he was the first who ran to the TV proposing, rightly though, that the alliance was the only way out”. Today, he said, he is praising the same party and same candidate he had fought against. “He is praising the same person against whom he fought the last election on PDP ticket”, he said. Earlier interacting with the workers, he said that National Conference was direction less party only attempting to hoodwink people of Jammu and Kashmir for its political interests. “Today Dr Farooq Abdullah and his son Omar Abdullah are projecting themselves as Massiah of same people they have oppressed over decades”, he said. He said that Jammu and Kashmir has suffered since decades due to the political misdeeds of National Conference and Congress. People were aware about the misdeeds of Congress and NC leadership and how they have sacrificed the interest of people for their short gains, he said. National Conference- Congress coalition, he said, has always brought chaos and uncertainty in the state by propagating oppressive policies. Lamenting that instead of adopting humanistic approach to address grievances of the common masses, the two parties and their leaders have brazenly mis-used State apparatus to gag genuine voice of the people. He said that the credibility of the both Congress as well as National Conference has reached at its lowest ebb because they have lost faith of the people. “The electorates are wise enough to understand the gimmick of this party and its leadership and their utterances they are making during the election days”, he said.
