Muzaffar Shah endorses Azad’s remarks over ‘UT cancellation’
Asks opposition parties to exert pressure on central government
Srinagar, Mar 14 : Awami National Conference (ANC) senior vice-president Muzaffar Shah on Saturday welcomed the statement of Ghulam Nabi Azad regarding the decision taken on August 5, 2019 by central government. He appealed all opposition parties to tread the path of Congress leader and exert pressure on Modi led BJP government to restore the statehood of J&K.
Talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Shah welcomed the statement made by senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azadi while meeting with NC leader Dr Farooq Abdullah at his Gupkar residence.
Notably Azad who met Dr Farooq on Saturday afternoon said the abrogation of Article 370 was an insult to people of J&K and urged central government to undo the decisions taken on August 5, 2019.
Shah said, “I endorse the statement of Azad sahib and urges New Delhi to restore the August 4, 2019 status of Jammu and Kashmir”.
He also said that the statement put forth by Congress leader is already a primary demand of ANC who time and again urged central government to respect the whims and wishes of people and J&K and undo the decision taken on August last year.
He further added that opposition parties should second the word of Congress leader and former CM of J&K with an aim to impress central government in restoring the constitutional concessions to J&K.
He stated that first government is resorting to wrong doings while tinkering with the Constitution of country then evading from embarrassment, it asks people to keep eye on Supreme Court’s verdict which is highly disgusting.
ANC leader, however, impressed upon authorities to release all political leaders who are languishing in and outside jails of J&K. (Agencies)
