COVID-19: Army holds awareness camp in Samba, distributes masks, sanitizers
Jammu, Mar 14 :As the coronavirus fear gripped the region after two person were tested positive of the deadly virus, Sabre Brigade of Rising
Star Corps along with Samba and Jammu District administration on Saturday organized a medical camp to address issues of the rural populace.
To help contain the virus, the Army distributed masks and sanitizers among the people who came in large numbers to attend the camp.
Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi, GOC Rising Star Corps also visited the camp at Ratnuchak in Samba district. The GOC was briefed by Brig Vishal Singh,
Commander Sabre Brigade on the prevailing health and local issues.
The GOC interacted with the locals, appreciated the dedicated efforts of organisers, team of Doctors from Army and civil and appealed towards
precious contribution from all to fight this Pandemic.
A large number of locals from the nearby rural areas including members of the Gujjar and Bakkarwal settlements who have limited access to quality
medical care, availed the facility.
The locals also availed the facilities of specialists: Gynaecologist, pediatrician, Eye, ENT, Medical, Dental and Veterinary ensuring a
comprehensive medical cover, providing the local populace, a single point medical solution to their health issues.
On the occasion, FWO Chairperson Princee Singh felicitated the disabled NOKs with Wheelchair and Mobility aids. The camp provided quality
diagnosis, treatment and awareness against coronavirus to the poor and needy sections of the society, further strengthening the bond of ”AWAM”
and the ”JAWAN”.
