COVID19: Langar facility suspended at Shahdara Sharief, other shrines of Rajouri

Jammu, Mar 17 : In view of rising threat of coronavirus pandemic, Shahdra Sharief, Auqaf Islamia has suspended Langar facility (community kitchen) at world famous Shahdara Sharief and other shrines in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Administrator of Auqaf Islamia here said on Tuesday, “In view of the apprehension regarding the spread of COVID -19 and subsequently the safety of Zaireens (pilgrims) of Holy Shrines of Rajouri the Langer facility at Shahdra Sharief and other Shrines shall remain suspended till further orders.”

He said that the visitors are also advised to take necessary precautions during their visits to holy shrines.

“All those suffering from health issues are also advised to avoid visiting shrines of District Rajouri till the situation improves,” he added.

He further said that the Langar facility was round the clock but have been suspended as preventive measure.

District Administration Rajouri has already ordered closure of all schools, colleges, hotels and other public places to avoid gathering. (Agencies)
