With humane touch, COVID-19 patients of J&K showing incredible recovery: Dir Health
Srinagar, Apr 27 (UNI) Asserting that COVID-19 positive patients have shown tremendous recovery after experiencing humane touch from frontline healthcare workers, Director, Health Services, Kashmir, Dr Samir Mattoo directed doctors to follow every possible measures and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in their treatment.
“Active or recovered Covid-19 patients in Kashmir need human touch of the doctors and the paramedic staff,” Dr Mattoo said.
“I have interacted with scores of patients in these isolation and Covid-19 facilities and was given this notion that some of the recovered patients have shown tremendous recovery after experiencing positive and humane touch from the frontline healthcare workers,” he said, adding “It is a moment of great happiness for all of us. They (Patients) wanted to thank the doctors and the staff of Hospitals for their exemplary services. They expressed that they will never forget the way doctors treated them.”
The Director said that in order to access COVID-19 preparedness, he, along with his team of experts, visited different COVID-19 facilities at Bandipora district on Sunday.
The Director visited NHPC Hospital Bandipora and interacted with COVID 19 positive patients in this facility—where the patients have been kept in hospital isolation.
During his interaction with Covid-19 patients, he assured them of all possible help and assistance from the Department of Health Kashmir Division.
He further visited DRM College, Bandipora, and AL Noor B.E.D College which are Covid care centers (CCC) where he interacted with patients who have recovered from COVID 19 and have been kept in Quarantine.
Dr Matoo later examined Sample taking Kiosk at CHC Hajin where sampling was in progress. Pertinently, after Directorate of Health Services trained around 459 lab technicians from all districts in sample collection the average samples taken in the Kashmir division has gone up to an average of 818 samples a day. These technicians take on-spot samples from red zone and send them to testing labs at Srinagar.
He appreciated the team at Hajin who in spite of all odds are doing a wonderful job and directed them to intensify House to house Surveillance so that all the Hajin block is covered in toto. He directed CMO Bandipora to focus on all Red zones of Hajin block especially Gund Jahangir which has maximum Cluster of positive cases in Hajin Block.
The Directorate also inspected IDPS Kaloosa Bandipora, Guest House Ayatmulla, Bandipora, Tibia College, Shilwat, Sumbal and Indoor Stadium Shadipora sumbal and took stock of the infrastructure and logistics in all these COVID-19 centers .
He directed the CMO and Medical Superintendent to provide all possible assistance to the admitted patients so that they feel comfortable and recover fully and are sent home happily.
