Treat incoming residents as citizens of India with all FRs, don’t detain them like prisoners

“Thousands of permanent residents of Jammu-Kashmir who have been returning to Jammu & Kashmir from different States of India are being treated like criminal prisoners and have been lodged in any available government accommodation, may it be, a go-down, a closed school or college or may it be any deserted place in the urban area or in the rural side. Hundreds of incoming youth who were thrown out of jobs in different provinces of India were returning to Jammu-Kashmir at their own expenses were treated like sheep/goats after they entered J&K from Lakhanpur. The pretext is that the government wants medical check if they are free from Corona Virus (Covid-19) affects. Unfortunately, when these young citizens of India, permanent residents of Jammu & Kashmir entered J&K border at Lakhanpur (Punjab), they are hauled like sheep, dragged by Police into the waiting government transport. They are carried to so called quarantine centers, which, in fact, are the close Police Stations with no accommodation even to stand. They are treated like die hard criminals by the Police and made to stand for hours. The reason, the government is offering that these incoming J&K residents shall be examined by doctors/medical persons if they are free from Corona Virus affects. The fact is that hundreds of incoming youth have been lodged in different places like Women College Hall in Udhampur, Women College Hall in Jammu, several other buildings/halls of different colleges in Jammu have been dumped by hundreds of incoming residents on the ground that the Police shall arrange medical tests. This is a human tragedy that thousands of such imprisoned youth as they were coming back to their homes in Kathua, Udhampur, Reasi, Ramban, Poonch. Their relatives, guardians have been waiting for them for weeks. They cannot even meet their dear ones in the so called prison rooms having no water to drink, no toilets for hundreds with only couple of toilets. The food they are thrown by some Policemen from outside their locked rooms. This is face of democracy in Jammu & Kashmir now under President’s Rule”.
