New rules for inbound passengers; pregnant women, cancer patients will not be sent to govt quarantine

Srinagar: The government in a fresh order regarding inbound passengers by air and train, has said that everyone who arrives in Jammu and Kashmir must undergo a mandatory test, and remain in quarantine till the test results come negative.

However, the government has made some exceptions who will have a modified quarantine procedure.

Pregnant women in the last trimester, with a doctor’s certificate of pregnancy, cancer patients on chemotherapy, chronologically ill patients discharged from a hospital after surgery, dialysis patients, mothers of infants below one year and children below 10 travelling alone will not go to government quarantine facilities.

The exception is also made for those travellers who have a RTPCR Test negative certificate from an ICMR approved testing facility not older than 2 days, 48 hours before the arrival.

These exceptions will be tested on arrival, and sent to home quarantine for 14 days. If the tests are negative, they have follow standard home quarantine procedures, and if the test is positive, they will be treated in a COVID special hospital for recovery.

Earlier today, first passenger aircraft arrived at the Srinagar airport after two month closure due to the lockdown imposed because of coronavirus. (Agencies)
