From spreading COVID-19 to elephant killing, Muslims blamed for every problem: Iltija Mufti
Srinagar, Jun 5: Iltija Mufti, daughter of former J&K chief minister and PDP president Mehbooba Mufti, on Friday alleged that from willfully spreading COVID-19 to brutally killing an elephant, Muslims are accused of being root cause of every problem in ‘New India’.
She further alleged that being Muslim in new Flag of India is to live in fear and perpetually having to look over one’s shoulder.
“Being Muslim in new India is to live in fear & perpetually having to look over one’s shoulder. From willfully spreading COVID to brutally killing an elephant, we are accused of being root cause of every problem that ails the nation. In this new apartheid system, Muslims are villains,” Ms Mufti, who is handling the official twitter handle of her mother, wrote.
Miss Mufti’s tweet was in reference to a case in Kerala, where killing of pregnant elephant Vinayaki in Palakkad left millions of hearts bleeding across the country. The pregnant wild elephant died on May 27 after it ate a pineapple stuffed with crackers.
However, the killing has polarised debate on social media platforms along communal lines as the incident happened in Malappuram, a Muslim majority district in Kerala. As national and international media picked up the incident, right-wing supporters tried to portray it as cruelty by people in Muslim-dominated Malappuram.
But, Police on Friday arrested a man, identified as P Wilson, an employee of an estate that cultivates cash crops and spices, in connection with the elephant killing.
She also refereed to people, including Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath , accusing Tablighi Jamaat of spread COVID-19.
