Srinagar: Paying rich tributes to slain youth of Padgampora encounter, Chairman Tehreek-e-Hurriyat (the), Syed Ali Geelani today said “our youth lay their lives to end the age-old slavery of their nation & putting a huge responsibility on our shoulders to honor these sacrifices and take the movement to its logical end.

In a telephonic address to mourners, Syed Ali Geelani said that I pay my heartfelt and sincere tribute to these martyrs and I would have attended their funerals but authorities don’t allow me to move and I am under house arrest since last seven years. They are even barring me from offering religious obligations, said Syed Ali Geelani while addressing mourners.

I assure my nation that one day we will emerge as free nation, said Syed Ali Geelani during his address and asked people to exhibit steadfastness and keep away from these shame elections.

Syed Ali Geelani Monday urged people to boycott upcoming elections, saying that participations in these tantamount to treason with the blood of martyrs.

They are two faces of the same coin, while referring to contesting parties, said Syed Ali Geelani. They are cheating and through their deceit, these parties are strengthening the occupational forces, said Geelani.

Don’t cast your vote in their favor and maintain distance from all these parties, insisted Geelani.

“I want to convey you that after participations in funerals of our youth, it is unethical and unjustified to cast vote and offer support to pro-Indian parties, said Geelani’’. It is prerequisite to convey a strong message to world community that we pursue a cherished mission of freedom and in no way, justify, defend or favor forced occupation, said Geelani.
