Policeman arrested after Codeine Phosphate bottles recovered from his house
Ganderbal, July 3: A policeman has been arrested after a cache of Codeine Phosphate bottles were recovered from his house in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
The recovery of over 800 Codeine Phosphate bottles, which are being used by drug addicts, surprised many and questions are being raised over the conduct and misuse of uniform by some cops.
Reports said that Police Station Kheer Bhawani after receiving information raided the house of cop at Kurhama Ganderbal and recovered over 800 Codeine Phosphate bottles.
The cop is presently posted at District Police Lines Ganderbal. It is not the first incident when any cop has been arrested for any shoddy dealings.
SSP Ganderbal Khalil Poswal told news agency KNT that everyone who is spreading drug menace in society should be punished, irrespective of their post and position. “Yes, we have arrested a cop and recovered Codeine Phosphate bottles from his possession. An FIR vide number 25/2020 under section 8/22 NDPS Act has been registered and the accused policeman has been arrested,” SSP Ganderbal said. (KNT)
