Congress observes Gandhi Jayanti, lashes out at UP Govt for stopping Rahul Gandhi to meet family of UP rape victim

Srinagar, Oct 2: The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) on Friday observed Kissan Mazdoor Bachao Divas on Birth anniversary of Father of the Nation and Former Prime Minister at Srinagar party office.

The party also lashes out at UP Govt. for stopping Rahul Gandhi to meet family of UP rape Victim and lodged strong protest against Agriculture bills asking for their immediate withdrawal.

The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) in a function organized at Srinagar Party office paid floral tributes to father of the Nation on his 151st Birth Anniversary and Former Prime Lal Bahadur Shastri, said a statement to news agency KDC.

The Function was chaired by JKPCC President G.A. Mir.

Addressing the gathering of Party workers, G.A. Mir recalled the services and sacrifices of Mahatma Gandhi and said Mahatma laid down his life for the Nation and its diversity & secular Identity, which will continue to unite the people irrespective of their caste or religion.

G.A. Mir also paid glowing tributes to Former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri and recalled his great contributions to the Nation.

JKPCC President according to news agency KDC said that Congress Party is observing this important occasion as Kissan Mazdoor Bacho Divas to register its strong protest against the black laws especially the Agriculture Bills that has been passed very recently and slammed the Centre for adopting wrong policies against its own people.

Congress Party demands immediate withdrawal of Agriculture Bills, Mir said and blamed the Centre for punishing Farmers under the garb of Agriculture bills.

Mere tall claims and unfounded clarification by the Centre won’t change the reality, the writing is clear on the wall that intentions of the Modi Govt are anti-Kissan, which will be defeated by the Congress Party, tooth and nail.

Mir said the country is passing through a very difficult phase, as that, the ruling dispensation at Centre has made the life of countrymen difficult by adopting wrong policies and bringing new laws and ordinances from time to time, which are determinant to the people’s aspirations and development of the country, Mir said.

On this occasion JKPCC President lashed out at UP Govt over not allowing Rahul Gandhi to meet family Members of UP rape victim Manisha and said such type of mindset shows how BJP Govts and its leaders treat people of the country.

Mir added and said Congress Party demands exemplary punishment to rapists of Manisha and those responsible for shielding the culprits, Mir said that the law and order has now become a distant dream under BJP Rule, people of the country must rise to the occasion to defeat their nefarious designs.
