DDC Elections: DEO Anantnag orders recount of votes in PDP bagged Larnoo seat

Srinagar, Feb 04: The District Election Officer (DEO) Anantnag on Thursday ordered recount of the votes in Larnoo DDC seat on which PDP candidate was earlier declared as winner following the directives issued by the Additional Commissioner Kashmir.

As per News Agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC), the seat was earlier bagged by the PDP candidate Khalida Bibi by a margin of seven votes against his nearest rival Sajida Begum, who was contesting the election as an independent candidate.

Officials said that Sajida Begum had approached the Additional Commissioner Kashmir with an appeal to recount all polled votes in the constituency.

They said following which Appellate authority, Additional Commissioner Kashmir, Bilal Ahmad Bhat passed the instructions to DEO Anantnag to hold recount of votes in the aforesaid DDC seat.

Meanwhile, DEO Anantnag, Anshul Garg has issued a notification to hold recount of votes in the constituency tomorrow in the Dak Bungalow Khanbal and has appointed Deputy DEO Anantnag as Nodal officer. (KDC)
