Anantnag, Dec 1 : Clashes broke out between protesters and government forces in this south kashmir principal town soon after the Friday prayers but there was no report of anyone being injured.

The clashes erupted as government forces chased away hundreds of people who  were raising  pro-freedom and anti-India slogans  after culmination of congregational prayers in the town, official sources said.

They said the protesters re-assembled and pelted stones on the government forces. The forces fired tear smoke shells to disperse the stone peltining protesters. However, there was no report of anybody getting injuried.

The protesters divided themselves into small groups and engaged the government forces in  Lal Chowk, Rishi Bazar and Janglat Mandi areas.

However, the government forces chased them away. (Kashmir Wire)
