Clashes erupt between students, police outside polytechnic college Srinagar

 

Srinagar : Security forces today resorted to lathicharge and burst teargas shells to disperse polytechnic college students, who were protesting against alleged use of disproportionate force on them and their professors here on April 29.
Scores of students from polytechnic college Gogi Bagh stage a protest inside the technical institute, demanding action against security force personnel responsible for alleged thrashing of their peers and professors inside the campus on April 29.
However, when the students tried to take out a protest march, security forces deployed outside the institute resorted to lathicharge to disperse the demonstrators, which had no impact on them.
The security forces later burst teargas shells to disperse the demonstrators, who resorted to stone pelting.
