Weather turns pleasant due to overcast conditions in Kashmir

Srinagar: After recording above normal maximum temperature during the last about a week, weather turned pleasant due to overcast conditions much to the delight of the people in Kashmir valley.
A Met department spokesperson told UNI that light rain or thundershowers would occur at few places during the next 24 hours in Kashmir.
Meanwhile, majority of the places in Kashmir witnessed further improvement in the night temperature.
However, world famous ski resort of Gulmarg, about 55 km from here in north Kashmir, witnessed marginal dip in the night temperature. Against 7.4 degree recorded yesterday in Gulmarg, the night temperature was 7 degree.
People woke up to a sunny morning in this summer capital. However, as the day progressed the weather became pleasant due to overcast conditions. Yesterday, the day temperature recorded was 4 degree above normal.
Meanwhile, the night temperature witnessed further improvement of 2 degree from yesterday and settled at 13.2 degree in Srinagar.
He said sky will be partly cloudy in Srinagar, where maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 27 degree and 12 degree, respectively.
The night temperature at Qazigund, gateway to Kashmir Valley, Kupwara in north Kashmir and tourist resort of Kukernag also surged and settled at 11.4 degree, 11.3 degree and 11.6 degree, respectively.
The mercury at world famous health resort of Pahalgam, about 100 km from here in South Kashmir, also improved and settled at 7.7 degrees, against 7.2 degree recorded yesterday.
The spokesperson said sky will be partly cloudy in Leh, where maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 20 degree and 9 degree, respectively.
