Srinagar, Jammu make it to ‘Smart City’ list

SRINAGAR: The twin capitals of Jammu and Kashmir have made it to the smart cities’ list as per the announcement of Union Minister of Housing and Urban Development Venkaiah Nadu today.

The Union Minister of Housing and Urban Development Venkaiah Nadu announced the inclusion of Jammu and Srinagar in the smart city list at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi today. The announcement was made as the government decided the stage-II (round three) of the smart city competition today.

The Smart Cities Mission was launched in June 2015 to improve basic urban infrastructure in India. 100 Smart cities were initially named across the country.
