Srinagar, Jul 2 :The Kashmir University (KU) has announced summer vacations from July 6 to July 16.
Meanwhile, the government has already announced summer vacation for all schools and colleges from July 6 in Kashmir valley.
The announcement of summer vacations in all educational institutes in the valley is seen as a step to counter the week long protest calendar issued by Hizbul Mujahideen supremo Syed Salahuddin from July 7 to commemorate militant commander Burhan Wani on his first death anniversary.
“Teaching Departments and PG Centres of the University shall observe summer vacations from July 7 to July 16,” officials at KU said.
The government on June 29 announced that all government educational institutions, besides recognized Private Schools up to the Higher Secondary level functioning in the Kashmir Division and Winter Zone of Jammu Division shall observe summer vacation from July 6, 2017 to July 16, 2017.
Meanwhile, all Government Colleges of Kashmir Division and Winter Zone of Jammu Division will also observe summer vacation fromJuly 6, 2017 to July 15, 2017.
