Despite attack Yatra goes uninterrupted but Jamia Masjid still sealed: Er. Rasheed
SRINAGAR: Accusing police and civil administration of becoming like OGW’s of Sang Parivar and other anti-Kashmir forces, AIP Supremo and MLA Langate Er. Rasheed has condemned Govt. for barring Friday prayers in the Jami Masjid Srinagar for the second consecutive week. In a statement issued today, Er. Rasheed said “It is strange that Govt. is doing everything to facilitate Amarnath Yatra and ensure their safe journey but state subjects are being deprived of their religious rights. While Govt. itself claims that Yatra is under threat of militants but still makes it uninterrupted for weeks to gather, it is shameful that it can’t ensure Friday prayers which take hardly an hour or so to complete, despite there being no threat against devotees”. Er. Rasheed added that Govt. has been more than cruel not only to common Kashmiris but to elderly Geelani and spiritual and religious leader Mir Waiz Omer Farooq by curbing their fundamental and religious freedom. He said “those preaching every time safeguarding and respecting dignity and honour of the women fail to answer why state is so scared of Asiya Indrabi that she has been jailed in a miserable cell at Jammu Jail”. Er. Rasheed rejected constituting of Special investigating Team (SIT) by J&K Police, for the reason that the security agencies are themselves under the clout of doubt over the incident. He said “It would have been proper to investigate the incident through some credible international agency, but New Delhi will never allow that as it has nothing to defend. However if it could use NIA to humiliate resistance leaders for political ambitions, for the sake of investigation it should have handed over the investigation to NIA. Kashmiris reject any investigation to be carried out by SIT as they truly have lost faith in the credibility, sincerity and professionalism of security forces”.
