White water rafting marathon held in Central Ganderbal
Ganderbal(KPS): In order to promote adventure tourism in Kashmir, a one day white marathon was organised by Adventure Tour Operators Association of Kashmir (ATOAK) and J&K Ski & Mountaineering Association (JKSMA) collaboration with Department of Tourism Kashmir here in Wussan Kangan on Thursday.
The marathon was held on nallah Sindh from Wussan to Wayil Manigam bridge. The marathon saw the participation of Eleven dare devil and was flagged off at 11 am.
On the occasion, the officials of Tourism as well as organisers were present and Deputy Director Tourism said that more such events would be organized in the future to promote the adventure tourism in Kashmir.
Later the participants and winners were awarded certificates of participation and the medals respectively.
The president of Adventure Tour operators of Kashmir Rouf Ramboo thanked the participants and other local people for their support and cooperation.
The most popular white rafting runs in other states in country as well but rafting in sind Nallah is amazing and is very joyful and pleasant. Amidst lush green forests, surrounded by lofty mountains, on way to most beautiful tourist resort of Sonamarg Ladakh. The rafting in Wussan point is most bet in Srinagar city.
The Deputy Director of Tourism, Ghulam Jeelani, including Dy Director Tourism (Recreation) Zargar, Qazi Sarwar Chief Executive Officer of Sonamarg Development Authority, Roif Tramboo president ATOAK and Mohammad Yousuf General Secretary ATOAK and other officials were present on occasion.
